Flood Around Kaba 1940, 1960 -Rare pictures

This photograph was taken sometime in the 1960s and shows the interior of the Great Mosque and the Kaaba after a flooding rain in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

This photo was taken after a heavy rain storm in Mecca, Saudi Arabia sometime in the 1960s and shows a flooded Great Mosque and Kaaba (the large black structure in the middle).

While tens of thousands of drenched Muslim pilgrims welcomed the deluge Saturday as an act of God while they circled Kaaba shrine in this holy city's Grand Mosque, the final rite in the annual hajj pilgrimage.

The seen on tv reminded me of above photo, which was taken in 1941 and it shows that the water level reached the "Black Stone."
